Mandy Gutsell is the founder of Know Limits a Coaching and Training Company in the West Midlands (UK).
She combines an extensive range of tools with the E-Scale and her training with the Enneagram Institute. These include; CPCC Coach with Coaches Training Institute; Organisational Relationship Systems Coach with Centre for Right Relationship; Certified Parent Teen Coach; Dramatherapist; Bsc (hons) Mental health and Registered Mental Health Nurse; Diploma in Creative Supervision; Certificate in Further Education. Add to the pot her very down to earth style, passion and love for her work. At the heart of this is her focus on 'relationship' and what defines this within the systems we exist. She is now focusing on applying her creative skills to her coaching in a more rigorous and evidence based way. This includes work with objects, role, story, metaphor, sculpting and action methods to name a few. This may further her interest in a related Phd.
Mandy values vibrancy, colour, passion, creativity, playfulness, down to earthness, rigour, stretch, heart, connection, warmth, sparkle, spark, acknowledgement and 'nice smells'. |
E-Scale Testimonial
The level of pressure placed on me by external agencies in terms of workload and my difficulties in managing these can be high. Mandy displayed a consistency of approach and balance between empathy and holding me to account that I found extremely helpful. I now have helpful tools that support me when the balance shifts too far in the direction of work at the expense of balance and health. I would thoroughly recommend Mandy's services.
(Ian Darch. Chief Exec. Wolverhampton Voluntary Sector Council)
The benefits I gained from personal coaching with Mandy are;
* A clearer working relationship between myself and my group.
* To focus on a clear vision for the team and communicate it to the team to "buy" into it.
* Alternative work methods which I had not previously considered.
I found the sessions extremely useful, thought provoking and provocative.
(John Chapman. Chief Exec of Torquil Clark Holdings.)
I enjoyed being with a group of people who shared a lot together and entered each activity with openness and committment. I enjoyed the chance to act out a different role and the physical games. You taught me a lot about being present and authentic with a group.
(Tony Barton. Director of RedKite Coaching. CPCC/PCC. CTI Leader and Authorised Team Diagnostic Facilitator.)
Mandy came across as warm and encouraging, yet challenging when the needs arose. I find her easy to share with and to put plans into action for myself and the team. I can recommend her to have been an asset to my personal growth.
(Lorraine Roberts. Operational Manager for Primary Care Trust.)
Mandy enabled me to work through issues I had and enabled me to reach my own conclusions. I feel more satisfied with my present post and more in control since receiving coaching from Mandy.
(Marian Osborne. Assistant Director for Barnardos Midlands.)
With Mandy's help I was better able to understand my own personality type and effective ways in which to work with others. She helped me realise my current business tactics were not the only way to overcome difficult work issues.
(Mark Jones. Managing Director of Staff Signs.)
As you know I value the understanding of how we communicate highly. I feel my team is better equipped to work together now much more after your training.
(Jacquie Le Maitre. Headteacher, St Mary's Catholic Primary School, Broadway.) |
Interesting Case-study
I worked with a team of staff in a school to consider their strengths and limitation of the e-scale assessments and what actions they wanted to take for progression. Self monitoring was a weaker area across the team so daily meetings had 5 minutes implemented as a prompt for learnings. The team meeting each week had 15 mins of feedback on 1 self observation to apply in learning.
1 teacher then used her learning to consider student learning styles in relation to the enneagram. She made recommendations for an assignment on her teaching course to group students according to 'centres of intelligence' and then specific typings.
She also encouraged her significant other in personal life to complete the e-scale assessment. They considered how their relationship could thrive further with a newfound understanding of their similarities and differences.
This was a great example of how someone had applied their learning to different parts of the systems they are part of. i.e. themselves, colleagues, students and significant other. |
